In moments of vulnerability, life comes closer.

There, time and control loosen.

Remain open to what comes.

ARTWORK

Selected portfolio

Oil and charcoal, used as tools for observing closely at life, in endless fascination — its form, its balance, its struggle, its beauty and what remains when noise falls away.

Each canvas emerges from a fragile and temporary balance, never fully resolved.

PURPOSE

A veil between ordinary and soul

My artworks arise from a careful observation of reality, moving beyond its mere representation. I begin with recognizable images — landscapes, figures, fragments of everyday life — and open them to an unstable dimension, where form dissolves and allows an emotional and perceptual vibration to emerge.

The work unfolds in a state of balance between control and surrender. Drawing provides a solid initial structure, soon challenged by gesture, material, and color, at times giving way to creative chaos, where process takes precedence and the outcome remains deliberately uncertain.

I am interested in creating images that do not impose themselves, but ask for time. A slow time, in which the viewer is invited to enter into a relationship with the work and to recognize their own sensitivity and creative ability.

The absence of detail is a conscious choice: the unfinished areas invite participation, encouraging the viewer to contribute their own experience, memory, and sensibility.

A silent reminder that creativity does not belong solely to the artist, but is a possibility present in each of us, expressed in different forms and moments.

I experience painting as an act of listening and trust in uncertainty. Each canvas emerges from a fragile and temporary balance, never fully resolved, in which representation becomes a pretext to explore perception, memory, and reality, without judgement.

What lies deep within awakens, as the viewer is moved through the ordinary rendered unexpected and touching — and from there a better self can arise.

I experience painting as an act of listening and trust in uncertainty.

TEACHING

The world needs more artists

« Something is only yours when you give it away ».

In the spirit of giving back to honor past and present masters — to whom I owe everything I know — I collaborate with the Atelier du Lac, where I teach traditional drawing and painting classes on Wednesday evenings.

BIOGRAPHY

Adriano Trevisan

Born on May 15, 1980 near Venice, Adriano Trevisan developed an early interest in drawing and painting. He later set this passion aside to pursue his studies and a career in the corporate world. Twenty-five years later, he returned to painting — an experience that proved transformative during a particularly difficult and painful period of his life.

In 2017, he began an artistic journey that led him toward American representational painting. A decisive encounter with Richard Schmid in 2018 marked a turning point, prompting him to deepen his studies with the intention of passing on the knowledge and discipline of the fine arts.

Since 2021, Adriano has been teaching traditional realist drawing and painting in Lausanne, while continuing his personal artistic practice in his studio in Montreux.

Guided by love, respect, and gratitude for the great masters, his work weaves together tradition and contemporary sensibility. Details are often suggested rather than fully rendered, inviting the viewer to actively participate in the completion of the image. Through this open dialogue, his work serves as a reminder that the act of seeing, creating, and honoring the beauty of the world is an ability shared by all of us.
